
Han Suk-kyu
Biography
Han Suk-kyu (한석규) is a South Korean actor. He was born on 3rd November 1964 in Seoul. During the 1990s, he was considered one of the top actors in Korean cinema with hits including Green Fish (1997), No. 3 (1997), Christmas in August (1998), and the blockbuster Shiri (1999). Following an injury and hiatus, his career declined in the 2000s. Films like The Scarlet Letter (2004), and The President's Last Bang (2005) proved to be very controversial because of the political subject matter and the suicide of a co-star. Although films like A Bloody Aria (2006) enjoyed cult popularity. Eventually in the 2010s, he enjoyed a resurgence in mainstream popularity following acclaimed work in the television series Deep Rooted Tree (2011), Secret Door (2014), and Dr. Romantic (2016-2020), as well as work in the blockbuster film The Berlin File (2013) and other hit films including The Prison (2017) and Forbidden Dream (2019).
